Come and fish peacefully at Tenterden Trout Waters and let your family explore
the local Kentish countryside
Tenterden, the local town, its picture postcard
High Street styled in typical Wealden weatherboarding, is a busy sm all town of "The Garden of
England". Built up mainly in the 17th & 18th century. Just 30 minutes
from the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone, and 1 hour from the port of Dover. The church, St Mildred's dates from 15th
century, and dominates the town, being visible for miles especially from the fishery.
The local area offers a wealth of famous Gardens,
such as Sissinghurst, Chartwell and Great Dixter, to great Country Estates and Houses,
like Leeds Castle, Hever, Knowle, Bodiam Castle and more. It was the home of Britains
first light railway " Kent & East Sussex Railway" in 1872, now
restored running from Tenterden to Bodiam. You will no doubt see the steam engines
passing close by the lakes.
