WEDDING VENUE FAQ
Can we get married at Coombe Farm/Tenterden Trout Waters?
We have been approved by Kent County Council for Civil Marriages and Civil Partnerships from Summer 2023 onwards upon the application of a licence. This means that couples can be legally married by the Marquee/Tipi or in our covered Lodge which is very exciting news. You can also hold a Civil Ceremony in 3 local Churches, Tenterden, St Michaels or Smallhythe and Tenterden Town Hall. If you have been legally married somewhere else then you can have a Celebrant led ceremony and host your wedding reception with us. Our venue is 10 mins away from all these places of marriage. Plenty of choice.

Can we bring in our own marquee, caterers, florist, entertainment, photographer?
We would prefer you to use our list of professional suppliers for the Marquee/Tipi and Catering – these Companies have been hand-picked to provide you with the very best and reliable service on your Wedding Day and they are well known to us and based in the South East but we are always open to your suggestions, your wedding your unique way. We are very happy for you to pick your own entertainment, florist, photographer.

Can we use candles at our Reception?
Due to Health & Safety reasons, we are unable to allow naked flames at the venue. However, we will allow candles/tea lights that are in holders and covered as table decorations ie a deep glass hurricane light.

Can we have Chinese Lanterns at our Reception?
We do not allow these due to our livestock on the farm

Do we have accommodation at the Farm?
We do not offer accommodation for guests but we have an abundance of nice places to stay from hotels, pubs B&B’s, holiday lets that we can recommend. We do not permit camping due to the Health & Safety risks of deep water at our venue. We do have our Shepherds Hut for our wedding couple to stay in.

Can you recommend any local taxi companies?
We can provide you with a list of companies. As we are a rural location, we do recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Is there car parking at Coombe Farm?
There is ample car parking in a field adjacent to the Marquee field (See image below). We do not allow buses into the venue because we live down a country lane. However, a medium mini bus can be accommodated. Cars can be left overnight, at owners risk, but they must be collected by 11am the following day. The car parking in the field must be marshalled properly on your wedding day by designated people (appointed by the wedding party, not the Owners) to avoid parking mishaps with enough space between cars to allow early leavers to depart safely.
Photography
We are very happy for you to choose your photographer/videographer. For Health & Safety reasons we will only permit Lakeside photos for the immediate wedding party. The Lakes comprise very deep water. There will be plenty of opportunity to take the group wedding guest photos in the field itself with the Lakes as your backdrop.
